Louis Vuitton Date Code Check
CRACK THE CODE

Every vintage bag has a story, and its date code can reveal a little piece of it. Enter the code from your Louis Vuitton bag and discover when your piece was made, along with more details about what the code means. A quick and easy way to learn a little more about the history behind your vintage treasure.

Enter the serial code exactly as it appears on the sticker or authenticity card (e.g. 5123456 or 14123456) to see the estimated production period.

Good to know

A date code tells you where and roughly when an item was made — it is not proof of authenticity. Louis Vuitton phased date codes out in March 2021 and replaced them with an embedded microchip, so newer pieces carry no code at all. Always assess the complete item — leather, hardware, stitching and lining — rather than relying on the code alone.
