What do you already know of Prada? Well, we’ve searched the internet to find some shocking, cool and very interesting fun facts about the amazing brand! How many of these 10 fun facts did you already know?!
- Prada is the only brand within the Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II – Milan that has two stores (!).
- Prada actually won this second shop within this beautiful Galleria by an action. They pay up to 2 million a year for this second store. It’s a lot of money, but we think the location is definitely worth it. The previous brand within this store was actually the McDonalds. However, this brand did not match the exclusiveness that the galleria wanted to radiate, so the McDonalds was kindly forced to open a location just next to the galleria.
- There is this ‘fake’ Prada Marfa store in Texas. It’s a sculptural art installation created by Elmgreen and Dragset displaying real items from the 2005 Prada collection. These items were picked out by Miuccia Prada herself.
- Founder Mario Prada actually didn’t want any females within his business. However, it was his grand daughter Miuccia who eventually made Prada as big as an imperium as we now know.
- The logo of Prada was actually designed to not be flashy and snobby and instead to project an image of “anti-status” and meant to be recognized by only the ones ‘who know’.
- Business partners Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli eventually got married, and are still married ever since. They’ve got one child: Lorenzo Bertelli, who doesn’t follow the footsteps of his parents as he is a rally driver.
- Who still remembers the LG Prada Phone? This phone was developed back in 2007 and was the first Phone to ever be entirely touch screen – 6 months before the iPhone!
- The movie ‘The Devil wears Prada’ was inspired by Anna Wintour. However, she wasn’t invited to the premiere of the movie. As a revenge she wore full Prada to a press screening. What a boss move, right?
- Miuccia Prada has an actual slide in her office. Some people take the stairs or an elevator where Miuccia takes her three-story slide.
- Miuccia Prada collaborated with designer Catherine Martin for the movie ‘The Great Gatsby’, with no one less then hotty Leonardo DiCaprio. All the beautiful outfits you see at the splendid parties at mister Gatsby’s house are designed by Prada.
